Production update and some GREAT news!

Hello everyone,
A new production-related update, closer to shipment than ever. Hooray!
We have some exciting alterations that we would like to share with you. Last month our team visited the factory in Vietnam- where all the magic happens. We spent two weeks working there, to finetune all details and finalize the production process[fun fact: every jacket is comprised of more than 50 different pieces:O]
.
Now our news, briefly:
New Logo: We have been working on a new and improved version of the Cortèz logo. As the following visuals reveal, along with Wouter’s excitement:
All products (including yours!) will be featured with the new logo!
Mid-layer Pouch:
As we informed our beloved backer Dennis earlier, we decided to also include a mid-layer pouch to easily store and carry the jacket. You will find it inside your Cortèz package, free of charge.
Beginning Production - Black is first:
Next week the production of the Black jackets will start. All production lines are being set up while the black fabric and related components have arrived at the factory.
New color @new webshop!
Since many of you were bummed out that the lighter colors of the jacket were quickly sold out, we‘ve arranged an alternative: there will be a few pieces of “Cool Green” jackets available – in case you would like to know more about it, feel free to visit our new webshop at cortez-outerwear.com. Don’t forget to share with your friends, so they won’t be too jealous of your awesome new jacket!
Guess this is all for now – will be back really soon with the first shipping update for you, so keep an eye out!
Cheers,
Team Cortèz
that's us!

Is YOUR shipping address up-to-date?

Ciao everyone,
Hope this update finds you all well! With production going just as planned, it is time for us to finalize all shipping information, in order to ensure a timely delivery of your jackets! WOOHOO!
For this to be done though, please visit the BackerKit survey you have completed and check that the address you want us to deliver the jacket to is correct and as detailed as possible. Make sure to do so before September 1st – after this deadline, no more changes will be allowed to any of the data provided! You may follow this link to your survey: https://cortez.backerkit.com/
Do keep in mind, you must provide us with a phone number we can easily reach you if needs be – this will be used in case the shipping company has to contact you for clarifications. In that way, we aim to minimize the risk and complications of lost products etc - it also means you will all receive your jacket on time for your winter endeavors!
Once again, thanks a million for your continued support, we are super excited to get our products to you!
Regards,
The Cortèz Team
PS. As always, if you have any questions or doubts, don’t hesitate to contact [email protected] ;)
Cortèz Production Update

Hey hey!
Hope you are all enjoying summer with your mind on cooler days (perhaps not those of you in the Southern Hemisphere!).
Shipping address: Before taking you through another production update, I would like to ask everyone to finalize their Shipping address on Backerkit in the case of a change of address. You can find your survey here: https://cortez.backerkit.com/
Moving on to the Cortèz production: As I am writing these words, the fabric used in our jackets is being woven in Japan -if you are really silent you can probably listen to the yarn spinning… After that, the finishing and applying of the triple layer + Durable Water Repellent (DWR) will take place.
Once this is done, it is time for dyeing the fabrics: see below our machine mixing in the laboratory the paint to test and confirm the color of the dye for our jackets.
Another stop in the Cortèz production process is exotic Vietnam! There, all components like zippers, snaps, prints and more are getting produced and purchased. This process will take approximately 6 weeks to complete and then, all materials will be sent to our factory, where the jackets will be assembled.
Should everything go according to plan, the final stages of production will start at the beginning of September, so you will have your Cortèz in your hands by November, as scheduled!
Have any questions or feedback? Just want to say hi? Make sure to keep in touch through FB, Instagram or homing pigeon!
Regards,

Cortèz Production Update and Inside Pics

Hi everyone,
Hope this update finds you well!
We figured now would be a great time to inform you of the production process so far, some alterations that have been made (always for the best!) and of course our next steps in production!
As most of you probably know, members of our team went to Osaka, Japan to place the order for the advanced fabric used in Cortèz!
It was a fruitful trip, we negotiated an improvement in the 3-layer backing: it will be based on a knitted fabric with a much smoother structure, instead of a membrane backing as was initially planned. This change offers the jacket higher breathability and more comfort for your activities, while keeping the same high level of waterproofness (20K).
Right now, we are in the process of the lab dips to ensure the colors of the jacket are of the highest standard before proceeding with the actual dying of the fabrics. We will not bother you with all the intermediate steps regarding production (for those of you that are curious, just drop us a line!) -what you need to know is that after dying is finished, the fusing of the 3 different layers will be done to create the Dermizax EV, which you will enjoy on your Cortèz! Then, the fabrics will continue their journey to Vietnam in July/ August, to enter the assembly line.
See the pics for an insider’s look into production, more will follow when taking the next steps!
In the meantime, keep in touch and don’t forget to check and share the Cortèz FB page, for the latest info!
Regards,
The Cortèz Team
Survey lockdowns are approaching, last chance to get a sizing recommendation!

Hey All!
We're approaching the survey deadline! All orders will be locked soon, so here a few things to keep in mind :)
Make sure to think carefully about what size you choose, as this will largely influence how your jacket will fit. You can still make edits even if you've already completed the survey, but your responses will be set in stone when we lock down the survey!
Because sizing is so important, we want to allow everyone to send us their measurements in the next 36 hours. Based on your measurements we can recommend what size to choose. After this period all orders will be locked and no changes can be made. Please send your measurements to [email protected]
How do I make changes to my survey? To adjust your survey, go to https://cortez.backerkit.com and enter your Kickstarter email. From there you can change your shipping address and your size, style and color preferences. Furthermore, you can still add additional things to your reward at Kickstarter prices.
And of course, if you have any questions we’re here to help ;) That's all for now!
Cortèz Team
P.s. please see below our Size chart and how to take your measurements.
Explanation on how to take your body measurements:
1. Ask someone to help you with your measurements
2. Use a cloth tape measure: It's best to use a cloth tape measure instead of a metal one. When taking the measurements, you don’t want the tape to be either too tight nor too loose.
3. Measure on bare skin: it’s best to measure yourself on your bare skin, instead of while wearing clothes.
4. Mid-layer jacket size is the same as outer jacket: your outer jacket size will automatically be the same for the mid-layer. For that reason, we only ask you to fill in your desired size for the outer jacket. We will automatically add the mid-layer jacket to your order.
5. In between sizes: If the measurements for chest, waist and hips indicate different sizes, the safest choice is to go with the largest size.
